Ten Things You Can Do to Bring Peace

  1. Choose not be be governed by FEAR..
  2. Begin to practice NONVIOLENCE, PEACE and COMPASSION in your own life.
  3. Tell someone close to you that war and torture are wrong.
  4. Listen compassionately to those who are still deluded about this war or deluded about the use of violence.
  5. Educate yourself about issues of war, torture, and peace by seeking sources of information beyond the mainstream media.
  6. Ask your spiritual leader at your church, synagogue, temple, or mosque to talk about the war and torture in light of your faith's teachings, or schedule a peace talk at your place of worship.
  7. Write a letter to the editor of your newspaper calling for peace or stating your opposition to war and torture as tools of foreign policy.
  8. Call and write any elected official and political candidate and tell of your opposition to violence as a means of resolving disputes; call on your member of Congress for PEACE.
  9. Show your opposition to war and torture and your desire for Peace by means of bumper sticker or yard signs.
  10. Join up with both a local and a national organization working for the nonviolent resolution of conflicts.
